Members of the Brantford Police Service’s High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) and the Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response (TIGER) Unit conducted an investigation to locate and arrest a 23-year-old Brantford man wanted for multiple offences.
As a result of the investigation, members of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team and the BPS K-9 Unit arrested the man in the area of Colborne Street and King Street at approximately 5:45 p.m. on August 14, 2024.
Search incident to arrest located the following items in his possession:
- Loaded handgun (concealed on the suspect)
 - Approximately 79 grams of suspected Fentanyl
 - A digital scale
 - Canadian Currency
 - Multiple cell phones
 
Additionally, a 33-year-old Brantford woman was also arrested on the strength of an existing warrant. Search incident to arrest located the following items in her possession:
- Approximately 34.9 grams of suspected Fentanyl
 - Approximately 10.7 grams of suspected Cocaine
 - Approximately 4.6 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
 - Canadian Currency
 - Drug packaging
 
The total estimated street value of the illicit drugs seized by investigators is approximately $24,410.
As a result of the investigation, the 23-year-old Brantford man stands charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code violations:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Fentanyl
 - Unauthorized possession of a firearm
 - Concealed possession of a loaded firearm
 - Possession of a prohibited device, firearm magazine
 - Possession of a prohibited firearm, with ammunition
 - Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
 
The male suspect was also wanted by a neighbouring jurisdiction for a number of firearm offences.
The 33-year-old Brantford woman stands charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act violations:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Fentanyl
 - Possession for the purpose of trafficking, Cocaine
 - Possession of an illicit substance, Methamphetamine
 
Both of the accused were held for bail.
