Brant OPPOne person killed after multi-vehicle collision

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 24 North (Brant Road) in the County of Brant

Brant County OPP officers, along with Brant County Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services, responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 24 North (Brant Road) at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

The preliminary investigation has determined that a vehicle was entering the roadway from a private driveway and attempting to make a left turn when it was struck by a northbound vehicle. The impact resulted in a third vehicle becoming involved in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle exiting the private driveway, a 71-year-old resident of Brantford, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Highway 24 North (Brant Road) was closed for several hours while members of the OPP conducted the investigation. The roadway has since been reopened.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has dash camera footage from the area at the time of the incident, to contact police.
