Brantford man facing weapons charge after knife-wielding incident

Brantford Police ServiceBrantford man facing weapons charge after knife-wielding incident

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Bain Street and Wharfe Street for a weapons related call for service at approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 7, 2022.

It was reported that a man was observed swinging a knife at people in the area. 

Officers attended, located, and arrested the accused for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

The knife was located near the arrest location.

Information was received to indicate that the accused was in violation of a valid Judicial Release Order.

As a result, a 36-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 

• Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order

The accused was held for bail
