Pedal Paddle Pace returned to Brantford after a nearly decade-long break on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The triathlon-style event, which combines cycling, paddling and running, gathered over 40 participants according to Stephaine Bennett of Natural Path Root Cause Health Optimization.
“In the past, we have had as many as 100 participants, but after nearly a decade away, we knew we would have to rebuild awareness and reconnect with our audience,” said Bennett. “This year was really about bringing the event back to life, demonstrating its potential, and creating a foundation for future growth.”

The event was launched in 2016 and ran again in 2017 before being paused.
“As life and business commitments evolved, I simply wasn’t able to dedicate the time and resources needed to organize an event of this magnitude,” said Bennett.
Bennett said she started it because she wanted to take part in an event like it.
“I originally created Pedal Paddle Pace because it was an event I personally wanted to participate in,” said Bennett. “I couldn’t find anything in Southern Ontario that brought these three activities together in this way.”
Bennett said people had asked for years when it would return, and a partnership with Altitude Coffee Roasters made it possible.
“The biggest change this year was our partnership with Altitude Coffee Roasters,” said Bennett. “Having their involvement and support made it possible to bring the event back.”

Bennett said some participants told her they had trouble following the cycling route.
“We did have ribbons marking the cycling route, along with signage and volunteer marshals positioned at locations we anticipated might require additional direction,” said Bennett. “That said, we recognize that some areas could have been marked more clearly.”
Construction in Paris added navigation challenges. No major course changes are planned, but Bennett said route markings, signage and directional support will be improved.
“As we look toward future events, improving route visibility and ensuring participants feel confident navigating the course will be a priority,” said Bennett.
