52-year-old male charged with Operation While Impaired

Brantford Police Service52-year-old male charged with Operation While Impaired

patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a motor vehicle exiting from the east bound Highway 403 off-ramp, turning northbound on Wayne Gretzky Parkway, erratically and at a significantly slow rate of speed at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday July 30, 2022.

In an effort to determine sobriety of the driver, a traffic stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment, and was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law.

Both samples were nearly three times the legal limit.

Information was received to identify the accused as an unlicensed driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following: 

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol & Drugs, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act 

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded.
