Willowbridge receives Victim Services Award of Distinction

Local NewsWillowbridge receives Victim Services Award of Distinction

Willowbridge Community Services announced that its Safe Relationships Team has received the 2025–26 Attorney General’s Victim Services Award of Distinction from the Government of Ontario on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The award recognizes individuals and organizations working to support victims of crime and raise awareness of victims’ issues across the province.

Willowbridge was recognized for its leadership in addressing and preventing violence against people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), who experience disproportionately high rates of abuse, exploitation, and gender-based violence.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful because it reflects the voices, experiences, and leadership of the people and communities we work alongside every day,” said Leslie Josling, Executive Director of Willowbridge Community Services. “People with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve access to education, relationships, safety, support, and justice in ways that are accessible, inclusive, and empowering. We are honoured to be part of that work.”
