Brant OPPHamilton driver facing Speeding and Stunt Driving charges

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street East in the County of Brant after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessive rate of speed.

The officer was conducting speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling 145 km/h in a posted 80 km/h posted speed zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old driver from Hamilton has been charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
  • Speeding – 145 km/h in an 80 km/h Zone

The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation.
