Brantford to host Inclusive Communities Celebration

The City of Brantford wil be hosting an Inclusive Communities Celebration at the Brantford Gunner’s Club on Saturday, March 9, 2024,

The event, which will run from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will include an evening of art, cultural presentations, featuring the Trash Panda Brass band and other community artists, and a keynote presentation by multi-disciplinary artist Kahsenniyo.

Consistent with the City’s Inclusive Communities Plan, the event is an opportunity to have a community conversation, aimed at gathering valuable youth perspectives on what an inclusive community means in Brantford. Enjoy music and art and participate in important discussions about how we can make Brantford a more inclusive community.

All are welcome and this is a free youth-friendly event where refreshments and a Taco Bar will be provided. Please reserve your spot by registering at bit.ly/ICPSummit. The schedule of events is as follows:

2:30 p.m. – Registration opens

3:00 p.m. – Facilitated small group discussions

5:20 p.m. – Keynote presentation by Kahsenniyo

6:00 p.m. – Dinner

6:30 p.m. – Performances from Trash Panda Brass, Sumedha, and others.

 “We are excited to host this opportunity to bring the community together” said Taylor Berzins, Community Initiatives Coordinator for the City of Brantford. “We look forward to sharing good food, great discussions, and artistic expression, while reflecting on what inclusion means in Brantford.”

The Inclusive Communities Celebration is funded by the Government of Canada’s Building Safer Communities Initiative to support youth well-being. This event also supports the goals of the City’s Inclusive Communities Plan and Empowering Youth Strategy.
