The City of Brantford will be offering free summer fun for all ages at Harmony Square throughout July and August.
Enjoy cooling off in the splash pad, Movies in the Square, Live Music in the Square, character meet-and-greets, Chess in the Square, energizing fitness programming, groovy roller skating and so much more. All programs and activities are free (with exception to roller skate rentals).
“We are pushing the fun button this summer season with our Harmony Square programming schedule,” said Jennifer Middleton, Special Events Supervisor for the City of Brantford. “Our team looks forward to welcoming you and looks forward to being a part of your summertime memories that you create with family and friends.”
Programming begins the week of July 10 and ends on September 1. Harmony Squirrel is excited to welcome many character friends Downtown including Mermaid Princess, Snow Sisters, Brave Princess and more on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The very popular Thursday Night Movies in the Square returns at dusk with screenings including Turning Red, Spiderman – No way Home, Minions: The Rise of Gru and more. Make sure to get there early for the pre-show entertainment.
Rock out with Music in the Square every Friday Night from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with bonus Sunday matinee performances.
Join the Brantford Public Library for Playdate in the Square on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. to participate in games, bubbles and more. Hone your skills at Chess in the Square on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
New this year, Family Gatherings EarlyON will host Fun in the Sun on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Don’t miss HipFest, an evening of live musical tributes celebrating the Tragically Hip, on Saturday, August 19, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. New this year join Livi and Friends on Sunday, August 27 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to sing, dance, jump, and learn!
City staff are thrilled to offer the popular Roller Skate in Harmony Square on Mondays and Wednesdays with a live DJ. Drop by and register on-site for your preferred time slot. Two time slots are available from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Roller skate rentals are available for $10 per pair in sizes J12 to adult size 15. Helmets and safety gear are strongly recommended.
Fitness in the Square also returns from July 10 to September 1 with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on Mondays from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m., Yoga on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., BodyFit on Wednesdays from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m., Total Fit on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and CardioFit on Fridays from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. All fitness programs are drop-in format and free.
In addition, the splash pad is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for residents to cool off while having fun. The splash pad may be closed for programming, special events and inclement weather.
