Brant OPPBrant OPP charge Woodstock resident with Impaired Driving

A 28-year-old from Woodstock is facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County members responded to a traffic complaint in the County of Brant early Monday morning.

Brant County OPP members responded to a traffic complaint reported on Highway 403 in the County of Brant at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Monday December 18, 2023.

A citizen observed driving behaviour that caused them to be concerned and contacted police. Officers located the involved vehicle where one person was arrested and transported to Norfolk County detachment for testing.

Police have charged 28-year-old Mossiah N J THOMPSON-SHARPE, from Woodstock with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),

·        Novice driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero,

·        Driving while under suspension and

·        Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
