The Brant Community Foundation announced the results of the 2023 Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation Grant funding.

The Ontario Endowment for Children and Youth in Recreation (OEFCYR) was established in partnership the Province of Ontario, to support participation in healthy and safe recreational activities for children and youth.

One of the most important responsibilities of the Brant Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is to assist the Foundation to make grant decisions through OEFCYR by reviewing applications from local organizations that provide services for children and youth.

The Youth Advisory Committee met recently to review grant applications submitted for consideration for the Youth grants. On behalf of the Youth Advisory Committee, the Brant Community Foundation is excited to announce the following funding recipients:

Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation
Summer camps provide the opportunity for children and youth to develop life-long friendships and skills. The Brant Community Foundation is happy to support the Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Foundation in funding children and youth to attend Summer Camps this summer!

Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation
Lansdowne Children’s Centre provides therapeutic recreation programs including the Social Club, which provides meaningful connections, a sense of belonging, and opportunities to make friends for participants. The Brant Community Foundation is pleased to provide funding to support the Social Club at Lansdowne!

Why Not Missions
Lessons in food and meal preparation lead to the development of important life skills and increased self-confidence. The Brant Community Foundation is thrilled to provide funding for the Baking Program at Why Not Missions, which will provide important real-world skills in food preparation through fun baking lessons for youth!

Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services
Fortitude Youth at Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services is excited to create an Amazing Race event aimed at exploring a variety of cultural expressions of art through participation in educational stations. The Brant Community Foundation is happy to support this unique event for youth in our community!

YMCA of Hamilton, Burlington and Brantford
The YMCA provides Leadership in Training opportunities for high school youth, where participants learn about core values such as belonging, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Brant Community Foundation is happy to provide funding to support youth in our communities in attending Leadership-In-Training camps this summer!
