Driver facing charges after multi-vehicle collision
A driver is facing impaired charges after police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision.
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 403 westbound at the Rest Acres Road off-ramp in the County of Brant at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Police charged Manpreet SINGH, 32-years-old, of Brant County, with the following Criminal Code offence of, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Brantford on August 21st, 2026.
Norfolk County resident facing several Assault charges
Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.
On Friday, July 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an incident involving two individuals that had occurred at a residence in the County of Brant.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old individual from the County of Norfolk was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following charges:
- Assault – Spousal
- Assault with A Weapon
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Forcible Confinement
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
The accused was held for Bail Court and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, on July 5, 2026, via video.
Driver charged following traffic stop in Brant County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment has arrested and charged a driver following a traffic stop in Brant County.
An officer conducted a traffic stop at Brant County Road 18 near Colborne Street East in the County of Brant at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026.
Through investigation, it was determined that the driver had a suspended driver’s licence and was using licence plates not authorized for the vehicle. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old driver from Halton has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Driving while under suspension
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
The OPP is reminding all motorists that anyone operating a motor vehicle on a highway must hold a valid driver’s licence, and the vehicle must be properly insured. Drivers are also cautioned that using licence plates not authorized for a vehicle is an arrestable offence under the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver was released from custody and issued two Part III Summonses. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 18, 2026.
