Whitby man facing seven charges, including Assault

Brantford Police ServiceWhitby man facing seven charges, including Assault

Officers with the Brantford Police Service received a call to report an intimate partner related assault and were dispatched to attend a Rawdon Street residence at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Investigation revealed that a verbal dispute between two individuals had escalated to physical violence. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

The suspect was located at a nearby business and was arrested without incident. Additionally, it was determined that the accused was wanted on the strength of two warrants with a neighbouring police service and was also in violation of a release order.

As a result of the incident, a 42-year-old man from Whitby stands charged with the following: 

  • Assault
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Forcible confinement
  • Intimidation
  • Failure to comply with order
