Team Outburst wins silver at national championships

Team Outburst, representing the Brant Youth Volleyball Club (BYVC), captured the silver medal in the U-14 division at the national championships, which were held in Ottawa from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Outburst kicked off day one action with a straight-sets victory over Carcajou Bleu and then followed that up with another win over the YRV Crush from Ontario. Outburst wrapped up the first day with a straight-sets loss to PVC Surge, falling 25-15, 25-23.

Members of the BYVC had a strong second day, opening with a win over the Thundercats Tempest. Outburst followed that up with two more victories, defeating the Impact Elite and Pumas Charge, both in straight sets, to improve to 5-1 after two days of action.

Team Outburst continued their winning ways to start the final day, defeating Griffons Blancs de L’Outaouais from Quebec in straight sets, 25-11, 25-20 to advance to the semi-finals.

Outburst faced their toughest challenge in the semis as they took on the 416 Flames from Ontario. Both teams battled hard with the first set going to Outburst, 32-30. The Flames responded in a closely-fought second set, narrowly edging past Outburst, 27-25. In the third and deciding set, the teams continued to battle back and forth with Outburst prevailing 17-15 to advance to the championship final.

Team Outburst fought hard in the final, falling to Thunderbolts Smash, 25-16, 26-24, but had a solid tournament, winning seven of their nine matches on their way to capturing the silver medal.
