Police charge Brantford woman with Possession of a Controlled Substance

Patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a woman in the process of using illicit drugs in the area of Icomm Drive and Wharfe Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Officers interrupted this process. The woman was in possession of suspected fentanyl. The accused was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance. 

Approximately 1.2 grams of suspected fentanyl was seized. 

Further investigation determined that the accused is in violation of a valid probation order.

As a result, a 34-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act 
  • Failure to comply probation order, contrary to the Criminal Code
