Brantford man charged with Impaired Operation

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a call regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Market Street South and Icomm Drive.

Officers attended and located the suspect vehicle. Speaking with the driver, police observed signs of impairment.

The accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples were over the legal limit.

As a result, a 25-year-old male resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Impaired Operation 
  • 80 Plus 

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.

BPS investigating report of suspicious persons

Officers with the Brantford Police Service are investigating a report involving suspicious persons and are seeking information from the public in an effort to identify the individuals.

The individuals in the photographs below attended a Glenwood Drive residence twice between August 23 and 24, 2023.

Brantford woman charged with Dangerous Operation and Impaired Driving

Officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Peel Street from Nelson Street in an erratic manner before striking a hydro pole at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

Speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment and the accused was provided the demand to complete a drug recognition evaluation. As a result of the testing, the accused was determined to be impaired by drug.

Information was received to indicate that the accused was driving while under suspension.

As a result, a 53-year-old female resident of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Operation while Impaired
  • Dangerous Operation

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.

Police charge 35-year-old with Operation while Impaired

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at approximately 10:35 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a Market Street South location after receiving a call from a concerned citizen to advise of a possible impaired driver.

Officers arrived on scene and located the subject vehicle, occupied by a lone male driver. The vehicle was parked at the time of the officer’s arrival.

Speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of impairment. 

A drug recognition evaluation was performed where it was determined that the accused’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. 

As a result, a 35-year-old male, who is a non-resident of Brantford, stands charged with Operation while Impaired, contrary to the Criminal Code. 

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the licence of the driver was suspended.
