Brantford police are asking for the public’s help in locating historically significant military medals stolen during a residential break-in.
On Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m., unknown suspects allegedly broke into a residence on Hardy Road near Paris Road and Oak Park Road and stole several items.
Officers said among the stolen property are British Royal Marines medals of valour, which have significant personal and historical value to the victim.
Investigators said the stolen medals include a British Royal Marines medal of valour featuring service bars and a second British Royal Marines medal with service bars recognizing service in South Arabia, Borneo, Northern Ireland and the Malay Peninsula.
Detectives said the second medal would have three additional service bars positioned above the South Arabia bar, recognizing service in Borneo, Northern Ireland and the Malay Peninsula.
