Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Alexandra Park, located at Dalhousie Street and Park Avenue, after receiving a report of a robbery at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022.

It was reported that, after receiving a ride in a taxi, a man brandished a knife and robbed the driver of a small amount of currency before fleeing on foot.

The accused was located nearby by police, was arrested and held for bail.

As a result, a 46-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Robbery 
  • Assault with a Weapon 
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
