Brantford man charged with Impaired Operation after single-vehicle collision

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a motor vehicle collision at a location on Lynden Road, where one vehicle allegedly struck a parked car at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The report received indicated the driver may be intoxicated. 

Officers attended, and in speaking with the accused, observed signs of impairment. The accused was arrested for Operation while Impaired by Drug. 

The accused was submitted to a Drug Recognition Expert Examination, as required by law, and was found to be impaired.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old male from Burford stands charged with Operation while Impaired by Drug, contrary to the Criminal Code. 

Additionally, a license suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
