On Thursday, September 1, 2022, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend an assault related call at a Dunsdon Street location.

It was reported that the accused, a 34-year-old man, attended the victim’s residence, allegedly striking him with a hatchet.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

Investigation received revealed that the accused was in violation of a valid release order and valid probation order.

As a result, a 34-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following: 

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order 
  • Breach of Probation Order
