Arcady is offering audiences a festive musical celebration with its acclaimed professional chorus, youth chorus, instrumental ensemble, and outstanding soloists with Christmas with Arcady, which will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2026.
The annual concert, held at at St. Andrew’s United Church in Brantford, will ring in the holidays with seasonal favourites and Arcady’s distinctive musical flair.
Designed to take listeners on a colourful winter journey, Christmas with Arcady evokes the sights, sounds, traditions, and memories of the holiday season. The program explores themes of winter, family, food, gifts, and cherished Christmas traditions through a lively collection of seasonal music both old and new.
The concert brings together some of Canada’s finest young professional singers with Arcady’s chamber orchestra, professional chorus, and youth chorus. Arcady’s instrumental ensemble includes its string quintet and flutist Madison Deppe who will join the singers for an evening of music designed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Christmas with Arcady grew out of Arcady’s acclaimed recording Welcome Yule!, named the second-ranked CD of 2001 by The WholeNote. The recording features original Christmas compositions and arrangements by Arcady’s artistic director Ronald Beckett. According to Beckett, the concert has continued to evolve since the original Welcome Yule! performances.
“The original recording was a compilation of songs and arrangements written for some of the ensembles I had worked with in the past. Each year since the original CD run of concerts, we have offered something different, although a few favourites remain from the original recording. It has evolved into a very different, much more informal show. It is designed to be a colourful, fun, and uplifting holiday production that the whole family can enjoy,” said Beckett.
