Brantford man charged with Uttering Threats

Officers were dispatched after a man was threatened at a Market Street location at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2023.

It was reported that the accused gestured towards the victim and threatened to stab him. The men were unknown to each other, and the actions of the accused were allegedly unprovoked. 

Police arrived on scene and placed the accused under arrest.

Information received indicated the accused was in violation of a valid Probation Order. 

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries. No weapon was found in possession of the accused.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old man of Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death
  • Breach Probation Order 

The accused was held for bail.
