Officers with the Brantford Police Service received a call to report an assault in the area of Morrell Street and Webster Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022.

Between 10:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., a 47-year-old woman reported that while she was waiting for the bus, an unknown man riding a bicycle approached her and attempted to steal her backpack.  

During this interaction, the woman was physically assaulted by the man and sustained minor physical injuries.

The accused fled the area, travelling towards Grand River Avenue on his bicycle. 

Suspect Description:

Caucasian male, approximately 5’7”, late teen to early 20’s, slim build, wearing dark t-shirt (black or blue) with red and white baggy basketball shorts, no facial hair, short brown hair, and dark running shoes. 

This investigation remains ongoing.
