Brantford driver facing multiple charges after traffic stop

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment have charged a driver following a traffic stop in Brant County.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 403 West in the County of Brant at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while being suspended under the Highway Traffic Act, and further to that had no current insurance coverage on the vehicle.

As a result, a 25-year-old driver from Brantford has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act & The Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Driving while under suspension,
  • Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance,
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit.

The OPP reminds all motorists of the importance of ensuring anyone operating a motor vehicle on a highway is licensed and the vehicle is insured.

OPP charge Brantford man with Impaired Driving

A driver is facing impaired driving charges, following an investigation by Brant County OPP. On the evening of June 12, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Rest Acres Road in the county of Brant.  

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, police arrested and charged a 31-year-old driver, Pedro, Michael CORREIA from Brantford, with the following Criminal Code charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80,
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

Upon completion of all court documents, the accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on July 24, 2026.

Brant County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Brant County Road 18 near 6 School Road in the County of Brant at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026. 

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged 65-year-old, Robert TAYLOR from Brantford, with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis in open original packaging.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on August 14, 2026.
