Brant County SPCA to host annual Cupcake Day

Local NewsBrant County SPCA to host annual Cupcake Day

Brant County SPCA will be hosting its annual Cupcake Day fundraiser on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The event allows members of the public to visit the Mohawk Street shelter and pick up a sweet treat in exchange for a donation to the organization.

“As always, we’re inviting the public to swing by and exchange a donation for a cupcake. We have some incredible volunteers who bake them each year; they’re delicious, and they’re always so spectacularly decorated,” said Logan Stengel, Director of Fundraising and Resource Development and the SPCA. “It’s a lot of fun, and all the funds raised go towards our greatest shelter needs, including spay and neuter procedures, vaccinations, general care and dental work. Right now, we have eight cats in need of dental care, and each procedure costs between $700 and $1,200 per cat, so it adds up quickly. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000, and I’m really hopeful that we’ll reach it because that kind of money can make such a difference at the shelter.”

Those who are interested in indulging in the fundraiser will receive one cupcake for each $2 donation made. You can pick up as many cupcakes as you like, but the treats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Unable to make it to the 539 Mohawk St. shelter location? There will be several Cupcake Day parties happening across the community. Confirmed participants include Sweet Bakery, Cake & Crumb, Beaties Animal Hospital, Global Pet Foods and Sifton Properties.

The SPCA is also encouraging the community to get involved by hosting their own Cupcake Day parties as well.

“You can invite your friends, family, or even your coworkers to participate in your own little cupcake party to raise funds for the SPCA. We’re also encouraging schools to get involved too, so this year Maria’s Original Pizza will be awarding the top elementary school and high school classes who raise the most,” said Stengel. “If people are interested in partaking, they can reach out to me at lstengel@brantcountyspca.com so I can provide a host party kit with poster files, cupcake cut outs, and everything they need to host a successful party.”

The Brant County SPCA is also hosting a Cupcake Day colouring contest for little ones who are looking to participate in the fun. Colouring sheets and more information on how to get involved can be found at www.brantcountyspca.com.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone on Cupcake Day, but if there are people who aren’t a fan of cupcakes, though I haven’t met too many, they’re more than welcome to go directly to our website and donate whenever they like too,” said Stengel. “But if you are a fan of cupcakes, keep an eye on social media for updates in case we sell out before you can make it over.”
