Police charge Brantford woman with Impaired Driving

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Colborne Street and Rawdon Street.
While travelling eastbound on Colborne Street, approaching Rawdon Street, the vehicle struck a hydro pole. As a result of the collision, the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Members of the Brantford Fire Department attended to extract the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance for medical assessment. 
Signs of impairment were observed. Investigation revealed that the accused was believed to be impaired by alcohol and was operating her vehicle while under the influence. The accused provided samples of her breath as required by law. Both samples were nearly three times the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old woman, from Brantford, stands charged with: 
• Operations while Impaired – Alcohol
• Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
Additionally, a licence suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.
