Province to proceed with inquest into death of Samuel Brown

Dr. Karen Schiff, Regional Supervising Coroner, West Region, Hamilton Office, has announced the date for the inquest into the death of Samuel Brown.

Brown, 18, died at Brantford General Hospital on February 9, 2018, after transfer from the W. Ross MacDonald School.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Brown’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.

The inquest is expected to last ten days and hear from approximately 13 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023. Dr. David Cameron will be the presiding officer and Maria Stevens will be inquest counsel.
