Brant OPPBrant County OPP officer cleared of wrongdoing by SIU

The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, found no reasonable grounds to believe an Ontario Provincial officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the facial injuries suffered by a 23-year-old man.

On March 20, 2023, officers from the Brant County Detachment went to the man’s home and found him intoxicated in the garage. The man came at an officer, swinging his fists. The officer punched the man in the face several times, he fell and was handcuffed.
