Two men arrested for being in possession of stolen vehicles

Brantford Police ServiceTwo men arrested for being in possession of stolen vehicles

Patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed two vehicles in a Colborne Street parking lot that had previously been reported as stolen from other jurisdictions at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Through investigation, officers located two male suspects within a nearby motel.

Both men were advised of reasonable and probable grounds for their arrest for possession of property obtained by crime. Search incident to arrest located the keys for both vehicles. 

Both vehicles were recovered.

Additionally, information received indicated one of the accused men was in violation of a probation order, valid police undertaking and recognizance.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old male from Brantford, was held for bail and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking 
  • Breach of Recognizance 

And, a 23-year-old male from Port Alberni, British Columbia, was held for bail and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x 2
