Brant OPPTwo Brantford residents facing multiple charges after theft

Two people are facing numerous charges thanks to a Good Samaritan’s call to police when they observed the pair stealing copper wire.

On Sunday May 28, 2023, Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report for a break and enter in progress at a business on Old Onondaga Road West in the County of Brant.

A witness observed two people steal copper wire and leave the area. Members from Brantford Police Service located the suspects who were arrested and turned over to Brant County OPP.

Michael SHRUBSALL, 35-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offences:

·        Theft Under $5000,

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada,

·        Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence,

·        Possession Break In Instruments and

·        Failure to comply with undertaking.

Sunni Alicia SANDS, 38-years-old from Brantford has been charged with the following offences:

·        Theft Under $5000,

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada,

·        Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence and

·        Possession Break In Instruments.

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
