Truck driver charged following multi-vehicle collision

Brantford Police ServiceTruck driver charged following multi-vehicle collision

Officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to the intersection of King George Road and Powerline Road following reports of a motor vehicle collision at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Upon arrival, the collision was determined to involve four passenger vehicles and one commercial motor vehicle (a transport truck with a loaded trailer). Significant damage to all vehicles involved was observed. Two drivers sustained minor injuries; one of those drivers was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The collision was investigated by the Brantford Police Service Traffic Unit with support from Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Transportation Enforcement Officers.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old male truck driver and a trucking company have been charged with multiple offences contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

  • Improper Tires – Drawn Vehicle – Commercial Motor Vehicle, Sec. 70(3)(a), HTA
  • Fail to Ensure Performance Standards Are Met, Sec. 107(3), HTA
  • Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with a Major Defect in It or in Drawn Vehicle, Sec. 107(11), HTA
