Brantford Police ServiceTIGER Unit arrest 39-year-old man, seize illegal drugs

Members of the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response (T.I.G.E.R) Unit completed a drug investigation on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
 
As a result of the investigation, a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant had been obtained and executed at a location on Cayuga Street and a location on Gladstone Avenue within the City of Brantford. The warrants were executed with the assistance of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team.
 
As a result of the search, officers seized the following:

  • 15.73 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $6,292
  • Brass knuckles
  • Canadian currency

 
As a result of the investigation, Dara MCALONEY, 39, of Brantford, stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused was held for bail.
