Brant OPPStoney Creek driver facing charges after traffic stop

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment have charged a driver following a traffic stop in Brant County.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Colborne Street East in Brant County at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating a motor vehicle while under licence suspension, and further to that had no current insurance coverage on the vehicle.

As a result, a 48-year-old individual from Stoney Creek has been charged with:

  • Drive while under suspension
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

The OPP reminds all motorists of the importance of ensuring anyone operating a motor vehicle on a highway is licensed and the vehicle is insured
