Simcoe man charged with Operation while Impaired

Officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a call regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Grand River Avenue at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Officers attended and located the subject male occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. The accused appeared to be unconscious.

Officers were able to wake the man and observed signs of impairment. The accused was subsequently arrested for impaired operation by drug. 

The accused was transported in order to submit to a drug recognition expert for further testing. 

The results of the testing determined that the accused was believed to be impaired by drugs.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old man from Simcoe stands charged with: 

• Operation While Impaired – Alcohol & Drugs, contrary to the Criminal Code

Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
