Police charge man with Speeding and Stunt Driving

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were conducting road safety enforcement in the area of Henry Street and Middleton Street as complaints had been received from the public to advise this area is subject to fast and aggressive drivers.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on Henry Street at a recorded rate of 115 km/hr. in a posted 60 km/hr. zone at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

A traffic stop was conducted, and a 33-year-old man stands charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle-perform stunt-speeding by 40 or more kilometres per hour in a zone less than 80 km/hr
  • Speeding 115 km/h in a 60 km hour zone 

Additionally, the accused’s vehicle was impounded, his driver’s licence was seized roadside, and he was served with an automatic 30-day administrative Driver’s Licence suspension.
