Police charge Brantford man with Weapons offences

Brantford Police ServicePolice charge Brantford man with Weapons offences

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Market Street and Dalhousie Street for a weapon related call at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

A report was received to indicate that a verbal confrontation occurred between two men and escalated with the accused threatening violence and brandishing a firearm.

Officers attended the scene and located the accused nearby. The accused was arrested without incident. Search incident to arrest located the weapon, determined to be a pellet gun.

Additionally, information was received to indicate that the accused was in violation of a valid release order.

As a result, a 37-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Possession of Weapons for Dangerous Purpose 
  • Assault with a Weapon 
  • Failure to comply with Judicial Release (Release Order) 

The accused was held for bail.
