Police arrest suspect in Colborne Street shooting

As a result of continued investigation, officers with the Brantford Police Service have arrested a male for a June 4, 2025, shooting outside a Colborne Street nightclub. 

At approximately 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a report of a shooting outside a nightclub located at Colborne Street near Clarence Street in Brantford.

One male victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Continued investigation led officers to apply for and receive judicial authorization to search a Darling Street apartment. The search warrant was executed on October 2, 2025. The suspect was located within the apartment and arrested at approximately 5:40 a.m.

As a result, a 26-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of weapons dangerous
  • Discharge firearm
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Pointing firearm
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm

The accused was held for bail.
