Ute Schram of Paris is $217,403.60 richer after winning a LOTTO MAX secondary prize in the January 17, 2025 draw.

Schram, a soon-to-be retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 20 years. Each week, she makes sure to pick up her LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 Quick Pick tickets with ENCORE.

The mother of two and grandmother of four is now happy to share the news of her first big win.

“It was a Saturday morning when I used the OLG app to check my tickets, and there it was. It was very exciting,” Schram recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings. “My husband was sitting across from me, so I said, ‘You have to see this!’ We were both thrilled.”

“This has been an out-of-body experience. I never thought I’d win big, but when it happened, it was a beautiful, life-altering feeling,” Schram said. “I’m retiring in two weeks, so the timing is perfect. This is such a fantastic gift.”

“I wanted to wait until the cheque was in my hands before sharing the news with my family,” concluded Schram. “I look forward to travelling, sharing with my children, and setting up educational funds for my grandchildren.”
