“Nine Fore Norm” donates $5,000 to County of Brant Fire Service Training

County of Brant“Nine Fore Norm” donates $5,000 to County of Brant Fire Service Training

In honour of the late Norman Booth, the “Nine Fore Norm” committee donated $5,000.00 to the County of Brant Fire Services training program on Monday, July 25, 2022.

“On behalf of the County of Brant Fire Team, I want to extend my sincere thank you to the incredible committee members who honour the late Norm Booth,” said Mayor Bailey. “Norm was an extraordinary firefighter, colleague and friend and this donation to the training program will carry on the legacy that he has built.”

Norman Booth passed away on April 8, 2022. Norm had the privilege of having 50 years in the fire service working for both the County of Brant and City of Brantford as a firefighter and training officer. Finding his passion in training, Norm was involved with the Brantford Firefighters Executive and the Ontario Association of Fire Training Officers.

Before his passing, the “Nine Fore Norm” committee was created by a group of Norm’s colleagues and friends. The committee organized a golf tournament in Norm’s honour to donate profits back to the training program.

“Norm made an impact on everyone he met within and outside the fire service,” said Josie Mannen, a “Nine Fore Norm” committee member. “His passion for educating recruits and assisting his fellow firefighters, inspired us all. We hope to make our golf tournament an annual event and continue to support the training program for our friend Norm.”

The “Nine Fore Norm” golf tournament was held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Fescue’s Edge Golf Club.
