Mandy Samwell, Ward 5 Councillor for the City of Brantford, was elected as Chair of the Brantford Police Service Board at their meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

“It is an honour to serve as Chair of the Police Service Board. I believe strongly in community centered policing and look forward to working collaboratively to ensure strong governance while upholding community trust in public safety,” said Samwell.

Dan Houssar was also elected as Vice-Chair. The current members of the Brantford Police Service Board are:

Chair – Councillor Mandy Samwell

Vice-Chair – Dan Houssar

Member – Mayor Kevin Davis

Member – Allan Lovett

Member – Krupesh Shah

The Brantford Police Service Board consists of two Council Members appointed by resolution of the Municipal Council, one Community Member appointed by Municipal Council and two persons appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

“I look forward to working closely with Chair Samwell and Vice-Chair Houssar, and the rest of the Police Service Board, as we continue to deliver professional, community-focused policing for the City of Brantford,” added Jason Saunders, Chief of Brantford Police Service.
