Man facing charges after convenience store theft

Brantford Police ServiceMan facing charges after convenience store theft

A 27-year-old Brantford man is facing charges after brandishing a knife during a convenience store theft.

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched after receiving a report of a theft at a Dalhousie Street convenience store involving a knife at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

The accused is reported to have entered the store, allegedly showing a knife before taking merchandise without making an attempt to pay. The accused then fled on foot.

No injuries were sustained by the store employee.

Officers attended the area and utilized Police Service Dog Mack to track the accused to a location near Sydenham Street where he was then arrested by officers.

As a result, a 27-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violation: 

  • Theft Under $5,000
