The County of Brant Chamber of Commerce held its annual golf tournament in Scotland on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Around 60 players made up of local business owners, coworkers, friends, families and acquaintances, arrived at Fescue’s Edge Golf Club ready and eager to participate in the nine-hole tournament.

Sherri Barna, President of the County of Brant Chamber of Commerce, said the event is just one way to bring the chamber members together for a fun day of relationship building with other local businesses and organizations from across the County.
“The Chamber exists to help small businesses thrive, right? Part of that is meeting different people, creating sponsorship opportunities, and exposing your brand to a bunch of people you normally may not get in front of,” she said. “This golf tournament is always a lot of fun and it’s a great chance to network in a way that isn’t just walking in a room and shaking a bunch of hands. We’ve also had a couple businesses here today who brought their staff along, and I think it’s really an easy, light-hearted team-building activity for them too.”

Throughout the afternoon, players made their way through the course joking around and engaging in some friendly competition, each of them hoping to take home the $10,000 hole-in-one prize… though, with no such luck.
After an afternoon of playing in the sun, the golfers headed inside the clubhouse to mix and mingle, grab refreshments, relax, and collect their raffle prizes; a few of this year’s takeaways included Blue Jays tickets, a pizza oven, drum lessons, a family pass to the Twin Valley Zoo, a one night stay at the Arlington Hotel and a sightseeing flight with the Brantford Flight Centre.
Just as dinner was wrapping up, Wes Mik, Chamber Vice President, also announced the winners for men’s and women’s longest drive, men’s and women closest to the pin, most honest team, and the team with the highest score.

Teagan Clancy, who won the women’s longest drive with 212 yards, said it was an overall fun event.
“It was a little bit of a warm day, but it’s a beautiful nine-hole course so it was just the perfect amount of time and so, I’m not super tired from playing all day in the heat or anything like that,” she said. “It was just a really fun event; it was nice getting to play with my partners, and everyone else was just super friendly too so I’m happy I came out.”
