Kitchener woman facing Impaired Driving charges

Brant OPPKitchener woman facing Impaired Driving charges

An individual is facing charges following an investigation into an impaired driving incident that occurred in Brant County on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were sent to the railway tracks near Broadway Street West and Capron Street in Paris at approximately 2:25 a.m. to investigate a report of a vehicle on the tracks.

Police have now charged 30-year-old Rebecca REES from Kitchener, with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was also initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The OPP is reminding drivers and members of the public to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions. 

To report impaired drivers and dangerous driving behaviour, police are asking residents to call 911 or to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or *OPP (677) on your mobile phone.
