Increased passenger limits for Brantford Transit

City of BrantfordIncreased passenger limits for Brantford Transit

Brantford Transit will increase ridership limits from 17 to 33 passengers, starting Friday, January 14, 2022.

This change has been approved by the Brant County Health Unit and means that the buses will have full seat loading with no standing. While pleased to announce this increase in passenger limits to improve service levels for our customers, Brantford Transit asks for understanding as capacity limits may be restricted at any time as directed by Public Health.

Half-hour service will continue to be offered from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday to Friday to accommodate morning rush hour. Hourly service will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Additionally, Saturday hourly service will start at 6 a.m.

Brantford Transit works closely with Public Health to ensure proper cleaning protocols are followed. Each vehicle is thoroughly cleaned every night after service using a disinfectant cleaner which is on the approved list for use against Covid-19 by Health Canada. The enhanced cleaning regiment also includes additional disinfecting on frequent touch points with focus on fare collection machines, handrails, and other high touch points. Drivers are also required to clean their workstations when taking over a bus from another driver.

As COVID-19 cases locally continue to rise, and to do all we can to prevent further community spread, customers are reminded to only use Brantford Transit for essential travel purposes including work, medical appointments, pharmacy visits, school and grocery shopping.
