Brantford Food Bank will, once again, be collecting food donations at the Brantford Santa Clause Parade, a long-standing community tradition.
For decades, the Brantford Food Bank has been a proud participant in the city’s beloved holiday parade. Each year, volunteers cheerfully walk the route, collecting non-perishable food items and donations along the way. This long-standing family tradition not only spreads those warm and fuzzy holiday feelings but also helps to ensure that everyone has access to food throughout the holiday season.
In October alone, the Brantford Food Bank supported 1,295 households and 3,500 individuals. Of those clients,19% were working and 35% were children.
“We’re always grateful to be a part of this festive event” said Heather Vanner, Executive Director. “The Santa Claus Parade has been and still is a special moment for Brantford. It brings people together and reminds us of the power of community. Every can, box, and food item we’ve received over the years has gone to a neighbour in need”.
Once again, the Brantford Food Bank is grateful to have Frontier Building Group by their side for the Parade. With Frontier’s generous support, providing vehicles and volunteers, the group is helping ensure another successful year of collecting food donations along the parade route.
The Food Bank invites all parade attendees to bring a non-perishable food item to the event. Great options include peanut butter, canned meats and beans, pasta, oatmeal and cereal. Every contribution makes a difference for a local family struggling this holiday season. Together, we can help ensure that Everyone is Fed, Everyone is Working, and Everyone Counts.
