Driver charged after hitting parked vehicle in driveway

Brant OPPDriver charged after hitting parked vehicle in driveway

One person is facing impaired driving charges after their vehicle left the roadway, striking several trees and a car parked in the owner’s driveway at their residence.

Officers with the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on McLean School Road in the County of Brant at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday November 4, 2022.

Witnesses observed a vehicle go through an intersection at a high rate of speed, leaving the roadway and entering a residential property. The vehicle struck several trees before hitting the property owner’s car where it was parked in their driveway. Brant OPP members arrested one person who was transported to Brantford General Hospital with minor injuries.

Police have charged William Robert James FIFE, 32-years-of-age from Haldimand County with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford, Ontario at a later date.
