Brantford Bulldogs season came to an end after a 5-0 defeat at the hands of the Barrie Colts in game seven of their Eastern Conference final on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The Bulldogs had the Colts on the ropes after jumping out to a 3-1 series lead but Barrie rebounded with two consecutive overtime victories to force a winner-take-all game seven.
The teams battled back and forth in the opening frame but Barrie struck first, scoring with less than two minutes to go to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Both teams came out tentatively to start the second stanza and while the Dogs and Colts had their chances, neither team could get back on the scoreboard.
The Colts came out flying to start the final frame, scoring 38 second into the period to take a 2-0 lead. Barrie continued to pour it on adding another goal less than five minutes later to open up a three-goal lead. The Colts put the game and the Bulldogs on ice after scoring two more goals in 92 seconds late in the third on their way to the 5-0 victory.
With their third straight win, the Colts captured the Bobby Orr Trophy as Eastern Conference champions.
