Discover Brantford launches Save in the City campaign

City of BrantfordDiscover Brantford launches Save in the City campaign

Discover Brantford announced the launch of Save in the City, a summer campaign aimed at supporting local Brantford businesses, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

From July 4 to August 31, 2023, residents and visitors are encouraged to visit discoverbrantford.ca/SaveInTheCity every Monday to discover daily, weekly and summer-long deals from a wide variety of Brantford businesses. Deals will include specials on local art, music, outdoor adventure, food and drink, accommodations and much more.

The campaign is delivered by Discover Brantford in partnership with SWEET Bakery and Brantford Finders Keepers, and was created to encourage residents and visitors to support Brantford businesses during the summer. Following the boom of online shopping and local support during the COVID-19 pandemic, some small- and medium-size businesses, including Finders Keepers, identified a need for greater support.

“Small businesses are the heart and soul of our community, and I am so proud to be a part of Save in the City,” said Stacey Bester, owner of SWEET Bakery. “I recognized and understood the struggles of many business owners post pandemic, and felt that where there’s a problem, there must be a solution. My hope for this campaign is to showcase Brantford’s unique small business community; and gain back the momentum that we had over the past few years by supporting and shopping local.”

Save in the City aims to improve reach, traffic, and local support for local businesses.

“By pooling our talents, knowledge, and networks, these businesses can amplify their impact and expand their reach in the market,” said Ashley Lepre, owner of Brantford Finders Keepers. “Through collaboration, we have the power to collectively navigate challenges, and seize opportunities, ultimately foster a thriving environment for economic growth.”

Save in the City deals will be promoted across Discover Brantford’s social media accounts and the Discover Brantford blog, and the public is encouraged to share the best deals they find with the hashtag #SaveintheCity.

“We are so excited to deliver this campaign in partnership with two strong local businesses,” said Kara Davey, Manager of Tourism, Culture & Sport for the City of Brantford. “It’s a great opportunity to increase tourism receipts from visitors over the summer months, while also establishing a loyal customer base locally, through the promotion of great special offers from businesses unique to our community.”
