Delhi man facing Impaired Operation charges

Brantford Police ServiceDelhi man facing Impaired Operation charges

Officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a location on Mount Pleasant Road, after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

A concerned citizen called 911 to advise a vehicle had been parked on the street outside a residence, running, for an extended length of time.

Officers attended and located the vehicle, which was found running with a lone man occupying the driver’s seat. The man appeared to be sleeping.

Officers were able to awaken the man and in speaking with the accused, observed signs of impairment.

The accused was placed under arrest for impaired operation and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law.

Both samples were twice the legal limit.

As a result, a 27-year-old man from Delhi stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences: 

  • Impaired Operation 
  • Impaired Operation- Plus 80 

Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
