Couple wins $50,000 on Instant Super Strike ticket

Local NewsCouple wins $50,000 on Instant Super Strike ticket

Robert and Lynor Gilks of Brantford are officially $50,000 richer after winning the Instant Super Strike top prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Clarence Street South in Brantford.

“I was on my way home when I stopped at the gas station and bought this ticket,” said Robert during the couple’s visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I played it right away at the store and realized it was a winner. In that moment, I was so happy and excited.”

Robert said he then quickly called his wife to share the incredible news.

“She was just as thrilled as I was,” he said.

Robert and Lynor told OLG officials that they plan to complete some home renovations, treat themselves to a nice vacation, and save the rest of their winnings.

“It feels great to be winners,” said the pair. “This money will be really helpful with our finances.”

According to a media release, the retired couple have been playing the lottery with OLG for nearly 40 years, and enjoy a variety of games including Lotto Max, Lottario and various instant game tickets.

This isn’t the pairs first time winning big, the two took home a $1 million prize with an Instant Ultimate ticket back in December 2022.
